Paul W. Steinbeiser’s landscaping and landscape design philosophy mirrors his personal land ethic. A dedicated outdoorsman and a landscaping aficionado, Paul got into landscape design and construction as a way to remain close to the earth in his work and his life. Having always valued the natural look of wild lands, he believes we can — and should — mitigate the environmentally degrading effects of development through the management of our own properties.
“People are further and further removed from the land,” he says. “Our mission is to re-awaken people to the beauty and environmentally sound effect of managing a naturally diverse property. It’s our way of encouraging people to once again live with the land, and not just on it.”
This philosophy guides each project Paul’s company works on. “Our solutions have to make sense. Our landscape design fits naturally with the surrounding landscape. You have to really look at a property and ask, ‘What was here originally? What logically fits here?’ And then we try to create a pleasing landscape design, working to integrate existing architectural features and planning for ease of maintenance and environmental sustainability." |
